Between 2013 – 2016, VBB transformed six residential homes and apartments in two Houston neighborhoods, Gulfton and Near Northside, as part of our Borderlines Living Room Art productions, showcasing art by artists based in the border regions of South Asia and North America alongside art and performance by Houston-based artists.
The productions sprawled inside and outside of participating residents’ houses and, sometimes, even onto surrounding streets. Free and open to the public, VBB’s Borderlines LRA productions were themed and structured to spark dialogue about the parallel struggles, joys, cultures and connections of South Asian and North American border regions as well as the histories of two Houston neighborhoods.
