DVD: Patti Smith Live!
Shipping Preference

In 2003, VBB Artistic Director/Founder Sehba Sarwar encountered writer, poet and punk rock star Patti Smith at LaGuardia Airport. Over the years, Sarwar remained in touch with Patti Smith, and in 2010, Patti Smith flew to Houston for a special reading and performance that she donated to Voices Breaking Boundaries. She read from her prize-winning memoir, Just Kids, and performed much-loved songs including Because the Night and My Blakean Years (for which she improvised a verse about her Houston visit and her time with Sarwar and Sarwar’s daughter), and she answered questions from the audience.

Thanks to documentary artists (Yunuen Perez Vertti and Faroukh Virani) who collaborate with VBB, Patti Smith’s 2010 Houston performance is now available on DVD for just $15 (+$3 shipping).
